Simon King:
“Badgers are as much a part of Britain as roast beef. Many thousands have already lost their lives in the pursuit of truth, but if the Government approves further culling, their sacrifice will have been for nothing. Without a loud and empathetic voice speaking for their plight, the next wave of senseless killing will continue unchecked.”
Anthony Head:
"I would like to add my name and my support to this campaign.  Culling badgers has so far proved to be ineffective in trying to prevent the spread of Bovine TB amongst cattle; in fact, it has been proven that independent culls have dispersed badger setts and forced them to migrate.  In any event, it is inconclusive that badgers are indeed responsible for a higher incidence of the disease.

I understand that the government must be seen to be doing something in an increasingly worrying time for farmers, but sanctioning further widespread culling and the indiscriminate "gassing" of burrows seems like a senseless knee-jerk reaction and one which may endanger our wildlife irretrievably.  With current researchers so close to finding a lasting answer to Bovine TB, I ask the government to reconsider its plans for another cull."
Chris Packham
"Lethal Gas and snares have no place in our countryside. Bovine TB is a cattle disease that should be tackled through a cattle health regime, not through destruction of wildlife."
